Programa de ÁRBOLES Familiares aims to improve community outreach and educate professionals (health educators, promotoras, lay health workers, navigators) who work with the Latino population. The training program will increase knowledge and confidence about cancer genetics and hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. In addition to providing skills for:

  • risk identification of  Latinas at high risk for breast and ovarian cancers
  • referral and navigation of appropriate community members to genetic services, and
  • communication about cancer risk


We are currently looking for bilingual English-Spanish individuals currently employed by a clinic, hospital or agency that provides services to Latinos who are:

  • promotoras, lay health advisors,
  • patient navigators,
  • community outreach, or
  • health educator professionals

Please note you will need to have a computer with internet access to participate in this training.

Program delivery:

Programa de ÁRBOLES Familiares training will include a:

  • 1.5-day in-person workshop
  • 8 online learning sessions
  • Opportunity to obtain free Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
